EDIT2005 - 1st International Dance Film Festival in Budapest

Call for submissions
http://www.wsf.hu/index.php?menuid=11

A three-nights event among the wide range of cultural programmes of the
Budapest Autumn Festival in October.

EDITs aim is to make the Hungarian cultural life more colourful by
screening dance films and videos from all over the world as dance films
are not very well presented and known in Hungary yet. We are hoping to
inspire young artists, choreographers and filmmakers while making the
local audience open and aware of this art form.

The dance films we are looking for are “choreographies for the camera”
and we are also interested in any experimental film based on the
relationship between movement and moving image.

INTERNATIONAL SELECTION
This section is NOT a competition.

EDIT is a non-profit festival. There is no competition department and
there are no prizes.

The ENTRY FORM with all the required information, should be sent by e-
Please use a separate entry form for each film submitted.

There is no limit of running time for films submitted to EDIT.

By the end of August 2005, all film-makers, distributors or producers
who submitted a film will have been notified as to whether their film
has been selected. A notification will be sent by e-mail or fax.

Films are screened in DVD format so please send films in DVD or in
MiniDV format.

Funding is very difficult, because we have to prove local Funds both
in dance and film, that dance film and video art is a seperate art form
that worth supporting. As a non-profit festival of a very low budget we
would very much appreciate to be offered free screening rights of the
submitted films.

We usually ask for photographic and publicity material of all the
films in the programme. Photos or stills can be sent through e-mail or
on CD-ROM.

A catalogue will be published with short description of the films and
photos. The catalogue will be also available through our website.

Please note that DVD copies will not be returned unless required. And
they will be stored in our videolibrary archive for local, non profit
educational purposes.
