1. CINZA
//Performance of narrative immersion with light and sound

The first performance of a “Color Trilogy” by Mirella Brandi x Muepetmo

// Date: Wednesday, October 21, 2015

// Time: 8pm

// Venue: Acker Stadt Palast, Ackerstraße 169/170, Berlin

// Entrance fee: 8–15€ (sliding scale)

CINZA is a performance that explores
audiovisual pathways of narrative immersion, using light and sound to generate
environments and sensations that alter our perception of time and space. It
employs expansive forms of artistic mediums, using immersive installations that
include visual arts, techniques from the performing arts and concepts about
expanded cinema to recreate and transport the spectator through new perceptive
ways.

Mirella Brandi is multimedia artist and lighting designer and Muepetmo is a
musician, composer and sound engineer. Together since 2006, they use image and
sound to explore their narrative capabilities and perceptual transformation
boundaries through installations and immersive performances.

The duo captures the principles that rule expanded cinema and immersive
installations, and transforms them through drama techniques to develop an
immersive narrative that communicates and connects through the collective
unconsciousness, but which is defined individually in those experiencing the
work.

They have attended a number of festivals, including the Festival de Arte
Eletrônica Vídeo Brasil (Video Brazil Electronic Art Festival), the On-Off
Festival, the Exposição Cinético Digital at Itaú Cultural, Live Cinema in Rio
de Janeiro, the Virada Cultural SP 10 years, the Digital Art FAD-Festival of
Belo Horizonte, the Tangente in Montreal-Canada, C60Urban Solar Audio Plant in
Berlin, Monkeytown in NY, LPM in Rome and the Rojo New Contemporary Culture in
Barcelona, SP and RJ.

International artists were invited to use the mediums of light, video, and
sound to create site specific performances for the Delphi, inspired by its
history and architecture.

Two specially created site-specific performances

20:00 HOBO

Mirella Brandi x Muepetmo present HOBO, a live performance that creates an
abstract and immersive film using subjective narratives. It explores the
immersion of light and sound to generate environments and sensations that alter
our perception of time and space. HOBO’s conception was especially inspired by
the history and architecture of ehemaliges Stummfilmkino Delphi.

Mirella Brandi is multimedia artist and lighting designer and Muepetmo is a
musician, composer and sound engineer. Together, they use image and sound to
explore their narrative capabilities and the boundaries of perceptual
transformation through installations and immersive performances.

21:00 Re-Entry

Video artist Radha Mateva uses transcoded images mixed live to create a visual
scape, targeting the abstract gap between remoteness and closeness. Sound design
by Toby Paul (Amsterdam).

The change in the space-time-continuum is extremely valuable and a must for the
creative mind. We should seek the moments in time when we find peace of mind
and have space for thorough reflexion whenever possible.

A summer spent in a small village of 80 people. Far away, so close. This
audio-visual performance is an exploration of the re-entry into the so called city
‘normality’, questioning what is actually normal, where is the border between
urban and rural, is being stressed in a peaceful village different than in the
fast-paced city, or is the question of inner balance not site-specific?
